International Affairs

Special Events

You will have numerous opportunities to stay on top of international events through a wide range of on-campus activities throughout the year. Several U.S. Presidents have graced the University, from Kennedy to Clinton. Recent speakers have included former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, the Dali Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, and Pulitzer-Prize winning authors Thomas Friedman and David Yergin. Regularly scheduled events include luncheon lectures with prominent scholars and professionals, career panels, and social events.

Students also have an opportunity to contribute to the biannual student-run publication International Affairs Review, sponsored by the Elliott School and the University. Recent articles have ranged in topic from "North Korean Motives for Acquiring Nuclear Weapons" to "International Organizations and Reform in Slovakia."
