Graduate Certificates
The Elliott School of International Affairs offers programs of study leading to a graduate certificate. The certificate programs are open to students who either possess a Masters Degree or are studying for a Masters Degree. These programs consist of 6 courses (18 hours) and give students a substantial exposure to the field.

The certificate programs are open to:
- students presently enrolled in graduate programs at the George Washington University (Elliott School, Columbian School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Public Management, Graduate School of Education and Human Development, and School of Public Health and Services);
- students presently enrolled in graduate programs at other universities;
- students who already possess an advanced degree at or above the master’s level; and
- students with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of professional work experience.
In the last case, the requirement for eight years of work experience is waived for the certificate in political psychology.
