Record Number of E&EM Students Graduate in 2001 Ceremonies
The George Washington University graduation ceremonies in May 2001 featured a record number of graduates at the masters and doctoral levels in the Environmental and Energy Management program. The commencement celebration ceremony for the School of Engineering and Applied Science, in which the E&EM program resides, was conducted in the Smith Center on Saturday, May 19. The highlight of the ceremonies was the graduation of five E&EM doctoral students. These were Virginia Alzina, Guillermo Jimenez, Daisy Ligon, Marcelo Viega, and Li-Chun Wu. Each of these five students defended his or her doctoral dissertation during the year prior to the graduation ceremonies. A number of E&EM faculty members and students also took active parts in running the ceremonial events.
