The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health is looking for graduate level interns interested in gaining experience in the following areas:

President Steven Knapp of The George Washington University created the presidential task force on environmental sustainability and charged the group of students, faculty, and staff to develop recommendations to enhance GW's academic initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship and climate change, as well as examining and recommending improvements in relevant University policies. "GW is committed to operating, in all its programs and activities, in ways that express its responsibilities as a pre-eminent institutional citizen of the nation's capital."

On June 1, 2008, the task force presented its Final Report including the Primary Recommendation: "Establish a new office with the leadership, funding and clout to influence university decisions and coordinate with both the faculty and administrative staff tasked to implement sustainability initiatives. This office will provide a central and visible focal point to ensure the university delivers on its potential to be a sustainability leader."

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus five years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for a combination of education, training and experience.

Working Conditions: The incumbent generally performs job duties in a normal business office environment. This involves working while sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
