- County Business Patterns, "an annual series" prepared by the Census Bureau "providing an economic profile of counties, states, and the United States. Data include employment, payroll, and number of establishments by industry."
- Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). "The Demographic and Health Surveys Program has been collaborating with developing country institutions since 1984 in conducting national surveys on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health and household living conditions."
- DataFerrett (Federal Electronic Research and Review Extraction Tool), allows direct and convenient extraction of data from selected Current Population Survey and Survey of Income and Program Participation files.
- General Social Surveys (GSS). " The General Social Surveys are representative sample surveys of the adult American population which have been conducted in almost every year since 1972. Questions on a very wide range of issues have been included, and the number of questions asked each year ranges from 153 in 1972 to over 750 in 1991. About one third of the questions make up the core, and are asked every year or most years. These are particularly useful for tracking changes in public opinion." - The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), "is a membership-based [GW is a member], not-for-profit organization
- serving member colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. ICPSR provides: (a) access to the world's largest archive of computerized social science data, (b) training facilities for the study of quantitative social analysis techniques, and (c) resources for social scientists using advanced computer technologies."
- National Center for Health Statistics Public-Use Data Files, several downloadable public-use files including data from the National Vital Statistics System, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), and the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG).
- The National Bureau of Economic Research Data Archive. The NBER archive includes access to the Penn-World Tables, the NBER Macro History Database, and uniform CPS extracts.
- Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID). "The PSID is a longitudinal survey of a representative sample of US individuals and the families in which they reside. It has been ongoing since 1968. The data are collected annually, and the data files contain the full span of information collected over the course of the study. PSID data can be used for cross-sectional, longitudinal, and intergenerational analysis and for studying both individuals and families."
