Faculty Profile
Roberto Samaniego is Associate Professor of Economics and International Affairs. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001, joining the faculty of The George Washington University in September of that year. He is currently Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Samaniego has published articles in a number of leading economics journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Review of Economic Dynamics, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. His primary professional interests are in the areas of macroeconomics and economic growth. He has focused on studying the relationship between technical change and labor market regulation. His current work centers on identifying the sources and impact of technical change by looking at cross-industry differences.
