Honoring Professor Davis Lee
To honor Professor Lee, who is retiring at the end of this academic year, the EALL faculty gathered at the Cosmos Club in DC. Professor Chaves read a poem he wrote for Professor Lee, and Professor Kim-Renaud presented him a vase with the GW insignia.

Full Scholarship for One Semester of Study at Beijing Normal University (2008-2009)
To honor President Stephen Knapp's visit last fall, Beijing Normal University (Beijing shifan daxue) has generously offered a full scholarship (covering tuition and room and board) to sponsor one student from GWU to study in their undergraduate academic program, for one semester, either Fall 2008 or Spring 2009. If you wish to be considered for this honor, please submit your application to the BNU Scholarship Search Committee, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures by 5 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Japanese Grammar Web Page Completed
The Japanese program has completed a Japanese grammar web page called Visualizing Japanese Grammar with partial support from the Japan Foundation. It provides 66 flash animations of key grammatical concepts in Japanese. The site can be accessed from anywhere in the world. In the past 3 months, there has been access from 92 countries and over 1300 cities worldwide.

Summer Courses Begin

New Look EALL Web page (Test Drive)
Today the EALL faculty met at the EALL conference room for launching the new EALL Web page. If you find any mistakes or difficulties regarding this site, please let us know. Also, we will eventually have entries for the blog (links are above) for each language through the EALL Web page, so please check them as well. We hope you will enjoy this new Web page.
