The EALL Department is located within the Columbian College
of Arts and Sciences. The majority of our full-time faculty members are also members of the Elliott School of International Affairs. The Department has four sub-components: Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. We offer both majors and minors in Chinese and Japanese Language and Literature
studies, and also a minor in Korean Language and Literature studies. Double majors and minors are possible with other GW schools and departments.
The EALL Department prepares students for significant careers in East-Asian affairs and related fields, by helping them develop leadership qualities through rigorous academic and practical training. The Department also organizes
