The Department of Sociology
The Department of Sociology within the School of Arts and Sciences offers the
Institute for Equity and Excellence in Education the benefit of experts in medical sociology and
health policy, criminology and deviance, applied sociology, trends in racial attitudes and
institutional discrimination, as well as patterns of service to the homeless. The Institute draws
particularly on the expertise on safe and drug free school issues.
