The Melvin Gelman Library
The Melvin Gelman Library, a Federal Depository Library, includes more than 1.6 million
volumes, with 60,000 added each year and 15,000 available serials. The Institute for Equity and
Excellence in Education uses the Library's 14 on-line databases, including two education indices,
as well as the on-line databases and materials of the libraries of eleven other academic institutions
in the Washington area through the Washington Research Library Consortium.
