A Challenge Gift to Renovate the Charles E. Smith Center Is a Win-Win for the GW Community
The generous commitment of $10 million from the Robert H. Smith and Charles E. Smith Family Foundations and Robert P. and Arlene R. Kogod to renovate the Charles E. Smith Center comes with a challenge to the university community: alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and other friends of the university are asked to match this leadership commitment over the next five years to help make this exciting project a reality. The Smith/Kogod families will match each dollar, up to $10 million, that is raised through private support for the renovation of the 32-year old facility.
The transformation will create a signature building in the heart of the Foggy Bottom Campus. In addition to enhanced amenities for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, swimming and diving, and water polo, members of the GW community will have access to an upgraded Athletic Director's Club, Colonials Club, premium locker rooms and weight rooms, and 25-yard swim pool.
It's an all around win-win!
