The George Washington University announced the selection of Noel Salinger as associate vice president of Development at GW Medical Center. Salinger, who currently serves as associate vice president of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Chicago, will assume his new position at GW on August 18.

"We are extremely pleased to have Noel join the leadership of the GW Medical Center," said GW Provost and Vice President for Health Affairs, Dr. John F. Williams. "He brings an exceptional depth of experience that will help us achieve our goals. His expertise and his proven track record of success are a welcomed addition to the dynamic team we have at the Medical Center."

Salinger has been involved in many high profile fundraising campaigns at the University of Chicago, where he has held several development positions since 1991. He secured major gifts for undergraduate and graduate scholarship and coordinated development strategy for senior level managers. Additionally, he has experience in managing the portfolios of major gift prospects and supervising annual giving, planned giving, foundation and corporate relations activities.

"Noel brings to GW tremendous strengths in development and a real commitment to medicine and public health," said GW Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, Laurel Price Jones. "His strong background as an advocate for the public good makes him ideally suited for this new role at GW."

Prior to his tenure at The University of Chicago, Salinger directed development efforts at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Foundation in New York and the American Bar Association in Chicago. He serves on the board of directors for the ACLU Union of Illinois, the Roger Baldwin Foundation of ACLU, and the Congregation K.A.M. Isaiah Israel. Salinger holds a Master's degree in anthropology from the University of Chicago and he earned his BA from Syracuse University in New York.

"The GW Medical Center is uniquely positioned as a leader in medical research and clinical care, as well as in public health and health policy," said Salinger. "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining GW's outstanding development team to help leverage the extraordinary potential for new resources. These resources will enable the GW Medical Center to be an even stronger national and international leader in the advancement of medical science and public health."
