Board of Trustees to Match Selected Gifts through Alumni Annual Giving Challenge

The GW Board of Trustees has issued a special alumni annual giving challenge over the next two years: When an alum makes a gift to support GW, the Board will double, and in some cases triple, the amount of the gift!

Here’s how the challenge works:

  • First-time donors to the University will have their gifts matched. For example, a gift of $25 becomes $50; a gift of $200 becomes $400.
  • First-time members of the Luther Rice Society (those making a minimum gift of $1,000 for the first time or alumni who graduated within the last 5 years and give a minimum of $250 for the first time) will have their gifts matched 1:1. For example, a $1,000 gift will become a $2,000 gift.
  • All donors who make gifts during their reunion years, regardless of giving history, will have their gifts tripled—a $100 gift will become a $300 gift, a $50 gift becomes $150.

With matching funds to support GW’s students, faculty, and programs, there’s no better time than right now to make a tax-deductible gift. For more information about the Board of Trustees Challenge Match, e-mail giving@gwu.edu or call 202-994-9487
