RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF REHABILITATION PERSONNEL IN REGION III

The George Washington University’s Regional Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RRCEP) has a RSA initiative pertaining to recruitment and retention of certified personnel in Region III

The focus of this ongoing initiative will be to develop a meaningful two to three year plan for use by rehabilitation agencies, universities, and community-based programs around recruitment and retention issues. Information related to the number of rehabilitation counselors currently employed by state agencies and community-based programs and their current vacancies would be documented. In addition, the current number of projected graduates from Region III rehabilitation education programs will be collected for this initiative.

The primary outcome will be to assure that there is a pool of qualified rehabilitation counselors for state agency and community-based programs in Region III. There will be collaboration with Region IV related to the collection of data.

If you have any questions or inquiries, please contact Dr. Maureen McGuire Kuletz at (202) 973-1558 or mkuletz@gwu.edu.
