The d/u ratio in the proton

Abstract

The world is made of proton and its isospin partner (neutron). Proton is made of up and down quarks. It is very fundamental for us to understand the u and d quark structure of the proton. But even the d/u ratio at large x, which is also equal to the valence d/u ratio, suffers from large uncertainties due to nuclear corrections. This talk will discuss one possible way to pin down the d/u ratio, free of any nuclear corrections and charge symmetry assumptions, i.e. to use neutrino and anti-neutrino DIS scattering from proton target, which is possible at Fermilab. In addition, the status of sea d/u ratio and the polarized d/u quark distributions will be briefly mentioned.
