The Andes: Tectonic Paradigm Shifts and their Consequences for Democracy and Market-Friendly Development in the Americas On 11 December 2008, CLAI and The Strategic Studies Institute of the US Army War College jointly hosted a colloquium examining the "tectonic" situation in the Andean region (see link to agenda below). The distinguished panel (see link to biographies below) took a variety of approaches to examining specific countries (Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela) within the region and the region as a whole.
