Jongwon Park

Jongwon Park is a Senior Research Fellow at Center for International Science and Technology Policy at GW's Elliott School of International Affairs. Mr. Park also holds another position as Associate Program Director of Science and Technology Policy Program at SRI International. Mr. Park's areas of expertise include: science, technology, and innovation policy; building technology roadmaps; assessments of technology based economic development programs; analysis of scientific and technical human resource issues; industry-university research cooperation; national indicators of research and development; and evaluation of government funded R&D programs. He has authored or co-authored a number of program evaluation reports sponsored by federal agencies such as the Department of State, the National Science Foundation, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

As a co-project leader of a series of studies designed to assess the impact of Fulbright student and scholar exchange programs, he administered international surveys in more than 20 countries. Mr. Park advised the National Science Board (NSB) by reviewing the literature on supply and demand in the science and engineering workforce.

Since 2004, he has been a regular contributor to the NSB���s Science and Engineering Indicators report, which documents quantitative data on the U.S. and international science and engineering enterprise. Mr. Park also has led multiple projects sponsored by foreign governments such as Korea and Saudi Arabia. Previously, Mr. Park worked as a project data manager/senior research associate in the Research Value Mapping program at Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Park received a B.S. in Physics from Korea University and has passed the doctoral qualifying examination for the Ph.D. in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
