GW to Host School Feeding Roundtable June 24-25, 2008

For two days school feeding experts from NGOs engaged in school feeding overseas, the donor community, host governments and UN agencies will participate in working sessions focused on the future of school feeding. Topics to be discussed incluse school-feeding best practices; overcoming school feeding gaps and misconceptions; and the future of school feeding in the developing world, including the impact of high food prices, shrinking budgets and a lack of
national ownership.

The targeted outcome of the Roundtable will be a published paper summarizing the outcomes from the event, and outlining suggested ways to move forward and improve school-feeding programs.

Participants will include The Honorable George McGovern, Gene White, President, GCNF, and representatives from the Gates Foundation, the World Food Program, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
