Emily Peca, M.A., M.P.H.

Emily Peca is the Global Public Health Education Coordinator-East Africa for the Department of Global Health.  Peca is coordinating the development of the Department's Overseas Community-Oriented Learning Program to be launched in the Spring of 2010.  During Program implementation she will be based in Kenya and serve as the Kenya Site Coordinator and an instructor. 

Previously, Peca was the Academic Support Coordinator for the Department of Global Health.  During this time she served as Co-Practicum Director, directed student advising services, and coordinated faculty and student recruitment.  Her teaching responsibilities included serving as clinic instructor for Global Health Frameworks and Comparative Regional Determinants of Health.  Peca also has experience working with various NGOs on issues such as child labor and education, sustainable agricultural development, and maternal and child health.  Peca has lived in Peru and in Guatemala where she worked with the Ministry of Health and conducted qualitative research on family planning. 
 Peca has a Masters degree in International Affairs and an MPH in Global Health from The George Washington University.  She also received a Bachelors of Arts in English and in Communication from Boston College.
