Prea Gulati, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.

Dr. Prea Gulati is a health economist and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Health at the George Washington University.  She also serves as the Associate Director of the Department, and is responsible for the overall management of the Global Health curriculum and Practicum development.  Dr. Gulati is also a consultant to the World Food Programme on their End Child Hunger and Undernutrition Initiative (ECHUI). Prior to this, she worked with the Global Health Council where she was Senior Editor and Project Manager for the Global Health Opportunities Report – a document intended to update policymakers on the priorities and policy opportunities in global health.  Before joining the Council, Dr. Gulati was a Research Fellow with the Global Equity Initiative at Harvard University where she worked on issues of health and education and their link to human security. Previous assignments have included working at UNAIDS, Stanford University and the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico. Her research work focused on the economics of obesity amongst adolescents in developing countries. She has a Ph.D. in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University.
