Ashleigh Roberts Black, M.A.
Associate Director, Center for Global Health

Ashleigh Black is the Associate Director of the George Washington Center for Global Health where she works on the Center's faculty-led research activities, scholarly service programs, and policy agenda in Washington and internationally. Black teaches courses on the US legislative process relating to global health and global health advocacy and activism. She works on the following policy issues:  HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and food security and the governance of international global health institutions and organizations. 
Prior to joining the Center, Black spent several years in the policy division of the United Nations World Food Programme working on child hunger, HIV/AIDS and school feeding programs. Previously, she served as the Senior Policy Analyst at the Global Health Council where she led their work in the area of HIV/AIDS and governance of international health systems, including the Global Fund. Black gained her legislative experience working on the Senate Appropriations committee. She has an M.A. in State Management and Humanitarian affairs.
