EDWINA YEN, MD, CCFP, CAFCI, MPH, FCFP
Dr. Yen has been a technical officer/advisor for PAHO/WHO since 1998. She is instrumental in reorienting medical and health sciences education, strengthening family and community health, and providing interprogrammatic technical support.
Dr. Yen has over 30 years of combined multidisciplinary, multisectoral, multicultural, and multilingual training and vocational experience. She has many accomplishments in the fields of clinical medicine and population health, health systems and services organization, international development and technical cooperation, project knowledge and management, professional education and in-service training, and resource mobilization. She has extensive experience with the United Nations system, especially in the arena of health. She has worked with a variety of ethnically and culturally diverse populations in a plethora of roles, form healthcare provider to project manager.
Dr. Yen has taught two courses for the GWU SPHHS: The Aging Crisis and Aging as a Global Phenomenon. She has over 14 years of experience in integrated health services delivery and management, as a physician, and a public health specialist with a strong emphasis on aging and chronic illness.
