JOSE TERUEL, MPH, MD, PhD
Dr. Teruel is a physician with over 30 years of experience in national and international public health with a focus on the Americas, particularly Latin America and the Caribbean, addressing north/south issues using an integrated approach. He has devoted more than ten years to the organization and development of teaching programs in public health, community medicine, and primary health care in urban and rural areas.
Dr. Teruel has coordinated multidisciplinary teams in the preparation and execution of inter-country projects financed with external resources provided by several bilateral and multilateral organizations. He has experience in integrating public health, epidemiology and social sciences in training, research, and program development to achieve positive results and collaborate in the preparation of highly motivated professionals. His experience includes coordination of interprogramatic activities. His research work has been widely published and he has received many awards and acknowledgments in the arena of public health.
