MAUREEN LEWIS, MA, PhD
Dr. Lewis is a senior fellow at the Center for Global Development. A health and development economist, she joined CGD in April 2004 on a two-year leave of absence from the World Bank, where she was chief economist of the Human Development Network. She led the team that designed the Bank's first major HIV project, in Brazil in 1993. Previously she established and directed the Urban Institute’s International Health and Demographic Policy Unit. An Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University, Dr. Lewis has published dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals on health and population.
