AIGA HIROTSUGU, MS, MPH, PhD
Dr. Hirotsugu is a senior advisor on Health and Nutrition for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He is responsible for project identification, formulation, monitoring, and evaluation of health and nutrition development projects. He provides technical support and backstopping to those who are implementing health and nutrition development projects in resource poor developing countries. As an adjunct professor at GWU SPHHS, he conducts research on the epidemiology of Buruli ulcer, delivers special topics lectures on global health, and provides valuable technical support and advise on study design and dissertation writings to graduate students of the Department of Global Health.
Dr. Hirotsugu has won numerous awards and has been recognized internationally for his work in the area of nutrition in developing countries. Some of his most recent work has been published in Humanitarian Exchange Magazine, Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing, Health Policy, Social Indicators Research, and American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
