About the GW The Center for Global Health

The George Washington Center for Global Health (CGH) carries out innovative research and scholarly service activities to strengthen the link between science and policy in Washington, DC and around the globe. Working with a diverse group of partners, CGH brings a range of program evaluation skills and policy expertise to global health research and practice. Faculty focus on the development of scientific best practices, and work to effectively communicate health information to the public by integrating research findings into both public health education and practice.  Activities range from the provision of technical support and monitoring and evaluation to strategic policy guidance.

The Center maintains four specific objectives in the pursuit of its mission:

  • Advance learning through scholarly service and collaboration;
  • Strengthen the linkages between science and policy development;
  • Strengthen the linkages between science and global health practice; and
  • Contribute to the policy and research dialogue on global health priorities
