Job Development and Placement Program


P u r p o s e:

·        Train Personnel in rehabilitation and related fields to more effectively place person with disabilities in jobs and increase the likelihood of job retention.

·        Provide a Specialized experiential component integrating classroom concept with practice in the field and laboratory.

R e q u i r e d    C o u r s e   W o r k:

The Job Development and Placement Certificate Program is a twelve semester hour program that includes three of these four courses (listed below) and a 100 hour practicum.

           
O  Foundations of Rehabilitation Counseling
           
O   Technology in Rehabilitation
           
O  Job Development and Placement and Supported Employment
          
 O  Vocational Assessment

A p p l i c a t i o n    P r o c e d u r e:

The following procedures apply to all JDP applicants:

1. Contact the program coordinator, by telephone (202) 496 8414  or by e-mail at ksanness@gwu.edu to obtain further information if needed.

2. Complete the GWU Application for Graduate Admission. You will need to include:

        a. The completed application
                For question 10. Mark the Graduate School of Education and Human Development
                For question 11. Write Job Development and Placement Certificate Program.
        b. Resume

       
c. The JDP application.
        d. $60.00 application fee
        e. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE MAT OR GRE'S FOR THIS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
            BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT APPLYING TO A GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAM

3. Send the original application and one copy (with check) to:

4. Keep a COMPLETE copy of your application in your files for later use.
