CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
IN
JOB DEVELOPMENT AND PLACEMENT

 

The following procedures apply to all applicants:

1.         Contact the Program Coordinator Kelli Sanness by telephone at (202) 496-8414 or by email at ksanness@gwu.edu to request an application and to obtain further information.

2.         Complete the GWU Application for Graduate Admission.  When you have completed this, please make certain that included in your packet are:

a)         The completed application with the appropriate responses to

                    Question 10. Mark the Graduate School of Education and Human Development
                    Question 11.Write Job Development and Placement Certificate Program.

b)         Most recent Résumé

c)                  The JDP application.

d)                 An application fee of $60 paid to the order of GWU.

You do NOT need to take MAT or GRE for this certificate program because you ARE NOT
applying to a graduate degree program

3.         Send the completed application and one copy to:

4.         Keep a COMPLETE copy of your application in your files for later use.

5.         After your application is received, you will be asked to come in for an interview.  This will determine if you will be accepted into the program or not.

6.         The Admissions Office will send you an official letter of acceptance into the program. At this point, you will be asked to confirm your space in the program by sending in a $100 deposit which will count towards the fees that you have to pay.  Please note that the scholarship you will receive as part of your acceptance into the certificate program only covers tuition and a minimal stipend.  You are responsible for all books and university fees.

Selection process:

 A number of federal scholarships are available to qualified individuals (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) who demonstrate the following: 

ˇ        Successful professional experience,

ˇ        Scholarship ability to undertake and complete the program,

ˇ        Commitment to the program objectives and goals,

ˇ        Intent to implement learned competencies, and

ˇ        Have read and agreed to the provisions of the scholarship as discussed in the personal interview below.
