The Program
The
Post-Master's program is a 12-credit program designed to build upon the
training received in the 48-credit master's program and to enhance the
knowledge and skills necessary to work with a diverse population. This program
will entail advanced coursework required for licensure that will increase
effectiveness in a school and/or community setting.
Accreditation
The
Post-Master’s Certificate
(12 credit-hour program)
Many
master's level counseling programs are 48 credits, and 60 credits are needed
for licensure in most states, therefore this program would enable a counselor
to meet this credentialing requirement.
A
student, with the help of his/her advisor, will create a program plan from the

Applications and Admissions
Applications
to the certificate program are to include a completed application form, a 1-2
page statement of purpose, two professional references, official transcripts from
all institutions attended and a resume. Applicants must have a graduate degree
from an accredited institution, and must have a minimum 2.7 undergraduate GPA
and a minimum 3.0 graduate GPA. Applicants must also have an interview with a

Graduate Student Financial Assistance
GSEHD
offers a limited number of tuition fellowships and support from endowment funds
for on-campus students. For additional information, contact the Office of
