Advisory Committee

The DC Neighborhood College Advisory Committee is a cross-section of committed and active thought leaders within the District of Columbia. The advisory committee members participate on a volunteer basis and primarily consist of non profit leaders, district government representatives, college and university faculty, and foundation staff. Approximately 80% of the advisory committee members have been involved with the program since its inception and continue to provide strategic direction for the program.

The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide strategic direction for the neighborhood college. Advisory members assist with the program design, curriculum development, implementation, and overall effectiveness of the program. In addition, the advisory members participate in quarterly meetings, carry-out fundraising efforts, and assist with the selection and review of the neighborhood college applicants.
