About the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership
The Center for Excellence in
Public Leadership develops public leaders who make a positive difference in
their organizations and for the people they
serve.
The
Center:
- Provides
leadership and management training grounded in research and practical
knowledge
-
Creates
collaborative networks among public leaders
-
Delivers
expert management advice based on state-of-the-art public management
policies and practices
The Center brings together
expert practitioners and university faculty to provide development
experiences built around the practical leadership challenges of modern
government.
We recognize that adult learners, especially those who serve in public leadership roles, need an educational experience that is practical, intellectually challenging, and directly applicable to their jobs. Training sessions and workshops are tailored to the unique circumstances government and community leaders work within, and provide a forum for participants to network and benefit from their shared expertise.
Because the Center is housed in The George Washington University College of Professional Studies, our participants have access to the resources of a world-class educational institution in addition to the professional experts, local leaders, and government agencies found only in the nation’s capital.
Our training focuses on enhancing key skills, using an array of innovative teaching methods.
