Conference registration
All presenters of papers and posters must register by April 1 to be assured of inclusion in the conference program. After April 1 we will begin to finalize sessions using papers for which we have received paid registration from the presenting author. Even if your paper was solicited by invitation of the Program Committee or otherwise initially accepted, it will not be confirmed in a session until the registration payment is received.
Fees
The registration fee is US $250 if paid by April 1, 2005 . Payment can be made online by credit card or you may download the printable registration form. You can type your information onto the form, save it as a new file and return to us as an email attachment or by fax or post. We encourage you to register early! After April 1 the registration fee will increase to US $350.
The registration fee includes an informal registration social on Wednesday afternoon, cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception on Thursday evening, six refreshment breaks, a program/abstract book and other conference materials, admission to all sessions, plus a one-year membership to the Society of Computational Economics.
Students
The first 50 PhD students to register will receive a discounted rate of US $210, made possible by a grant from the Journal of Applied Econometrics. Once the discounted spaces are filled, additional students will be subject to the standard registration fee.
Lunches
Washington is home to a large variety of excellent restaurants. However, the Foggy Bottom region of the city, where The George Washington University is situated, is not in the immediate vicinity of the central business district where most restaurants are located. There are a variety of fast food and small full-service restaurants located within several blocks of the conference site, however we are uncertain of the adequacy of these restaurants to serve the needs of our large number of participants within the time allocated.
For those who prefer not to walk several blocks or potentially wait in lines, we are offering an optional lunch package that may be pre-paid with registration. The precise nature of the package is not yet finalized; at a minimum the package will consist of box lunches distributed at the conference site on Thursday, Friday and Saturday but we are exploring the possibility of upgrading to a seated lunch. Because catering commitments must be made in advance, we do not expect the lunch package to be available for sale on site. For those who would rather find lunch on their own, we will also provide a directory of local restaurants to all who attend conference.
Most events at CEF2005 will be held at The George Washington University, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, D.C., which is building no. 72 in the bottom right corner of the PDF map of the university campus found here.
Conference dinner
We are delighted to announce that the Federal Reserve Board has agreed to host the conference dinner and hope that you will join us for an enjoyable evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, wine and pleasant views of the National Mall and its historic monuments. The banquet will be held on Friday evening, and is an optional fee event.
