The conference has negotiated room blocks with discounted rates at four hotels and the GWU dormitories, all within 2 to 10 blocks of conference activities. Click on the name of the hotel to view its website for information to aid in your selection. The District of Columbia offers many other hotels in the GWU/Foggy Bottom neighborhood and beyond, at a variety of price ranges and comfort levels, and you are free to make your own arrangements elsewhere if you wish. Hotel reservations should be made directly with your preferred hotel. Only a limited number of rooms are available at the stated rate - reserve early to avoid disappointment and besure to mention you are with the SCE conference. GWU dormitory reservations should be made by mail, fax or email using the printable form.
Most of the hotels accept reservations from their website, however the only way to receive the conference rate is to make the reservation directly with the hotel by phone, fax or email. You must mention SCE to get the rate. While it is possible that the hotels might occasionally offer a lower web-special rate for a brief period (which of course you’d be entitled to if you happen to find it) it is much more likely that the published rates will be higher than the conference rate or that rooms will not be available at all unless you identify yourself with the SCE conference.
Requests for early check-in, late check-out, and/or additional days at the conference rate will be accommodated if possible, as determined by circumstances at the time of the request. All hotel reservations require a credit card guarantee or advance payment for the first night. Cancellations and no-shows lacking the required advance notice will be charged one night room and tax. “No show” is defined as the failure to check in by 3:00 a.m. following the scheduled check-in date. No show charges can be avoided if reservations are revised or cancelled before the cancellation deadline.
Note that most events at CEF005 will be held at the George Washington University, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, D.C., which is building no. 72 in the bottom right corner of the PDF map of the university campus found here .
