The 11th Annual Conference on Computing in Economics and Finance (CEF) will cover all areas dealing with the computational aspects of economics, finance, and decisionmaking. The areas include (a) research that makes significant use of computers, (b) the development of computational techniques, and (c) the development of computational environments. The meeting is open to all economists including those who are not currently members of the Society for Computational Economics.
We now invite the submission of abstracts for papers to be presented at CEF 2005. To have your paper considered for a contributed or poster session, please submit an abstract of up to 3,000 characters (approximately 300 words) between December 1, 2004, and January 31, 2005. Submissions should be made online via the Conference Maker program at
http://gemini.econ.umd.edu/conference/SCE2005. If you have used Conference Maker previously, you should log in using your existing account name. If not, you will be prompted to create a new account.
Each participant may submit a maximum of two papers, one to be presented in a regular session and the other to be presented in a poster session. Joint-authored papers should be submitted by the author who intends to present the paper. If multiple joint-authored papers are submitted for presentation in the same format (regular or poster), each must be presented by a different author. Because Conference Maker does not distinguish between regular and poster submissions, ALL submissions should indicate "REGULAR" or "POSTER”" as the first word in the paper title field of the Conference Maker submission screen. The Program Committee will make a sincere effort to honor the format preference on all submissions but reserves the right to request a change to meet the needs of the program.
Authors whose papers are accepted for regular and poster presentations will be notified around March 15, 2005. Final papers should be made available by May 31, 2005.
All details concerning the conference, including contact addresses, instructions for registration and lodging, social events, and so forth, will be posted on this website in due course. Please check back often for updated information, or direct your questions to us at
