Association of American Law Schools 2005 Annual Meeting
Section on Law and Communitarian Studies presents a panel discussion titled:
"The Use of Broadly-Accepted Norms in Achieving International Cooperation"
San Francisco Hilton
Wednesday, January 5, 2005
2:00 - 3:45 pm
This program will explore whether ideas about the relevance of norms in human conduct
"often seen as complementary to law in the functioning of smaller communities" can apply
more widely as well. It will ask whether there are broadly-accepted norms that transcend
religious, cultural, and historic barriers, what those norms might be, and what kind of a
world order could be built upon them.
