Additional Application Requirements:
Three letters of recommendation required. A slide or digital portfolio required for the MFA program.

Our Master of Arts degree in the field of art history may be earned with a concentration in classical art and archaeology, medieval art, Renaissance and Baroque art, 18th- and 19th-century art, contemporary art, or American art. A master's degree in art history with a concentration in museum training is also available.

Conducted in the Smith Hall of Art, art history courses are supported by a collection of more than 160,000 slides and over 26,000 art volumes as well as the major art and library collections of Washington, DC.

The Master of Fine Arts degree is a 60-credit hour program designed to provide professional credentials within an academic context and to prepare graduates for creative and technical applications in their chosen field.
