Summer 2005

New Class of Presidential Administrative Fellows

Six members of GW’s Class of 2005 were recently named Presidential Administrative Fellows (PAFs). The two-year fellowship is designed to provide each PAF with a beneficial learning experience in leadership and administration through classroom education, professional experiences, and interactions with University staff and administrators. The students join the seven other fellows who are in their second year of the program. Jessica Beaman deferred her acceptance to the GW Medical School to pursue an MA in public health from GW’s School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Carine Doumit will be pursuing an MS in engineering management with a concentration in finance, economics, and cost engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Paul Kendrick plans to pursue an MA either in public administration from the School of Public Policy and Public Administration (SPPPA) or in political management from the Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM). Lina Musayev will pursure an MA from the Elliott School of International Affairs or SPPPA. Omar Woodard will pursue an MA in public administration with a concentration in non-profit management from SPPPA; Phillip Zeeck will pursue an MA in political management from GSPM.

This year is the 16th anniversary of the PAF program. GW President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg created the program in 1989 to offer graduating seniors an opportunity to gain invaluable educational and professional experience. GW provides fellows with tuition and fees for credit hours in a graduate program, as well as a housing stipend and wages, allowing PAFs to obtain a master’s degree from the University.
