University Creates
GW Housing
Programs
In June, the University
launched GW Housing
Programs to serve as a
unified one-stop residential
service program, replacing
the Community Living and
Learning Center.
Among its initiatives, GW
Housing Programs will restructure
residential customer
service around a philosophy
that focuses on individualized
attention, customer responsiveness,
career development,
and class-specific needs. The
program also will implement a
theme-based residential house
system and houses will have
class-specific student staffs.
GW Housing Programs
will facilitate out-of-classroom
learning outcomes by class
year with topics including
self-assessment as well as lifestyle
and career preparedness.
GW Housing Programs will
partner with the Career
Center to focus on the implementation
of career competencies
by class year, in hall
orientations and programs,
and the development of
marketable skills through “Find the Right Experience
and Employment.”
GW Housing Programs
also will increase faculty
involvement in the out-of class
residential experience
by devoting resources and
attention to residential
community service, focusing
on career and skills development,
and by emphasizing
business and idea entrepreneurship
into house interests.
GW Housing Programs works
collaboratively with student
academic support services
departments to deliver comprehensive
service offerings
directly in residential houses,
improving ease of use for all
students.
