GWAA Honors Five Alumni
for Volunteer Service
At its annual meeting on June 7, the GW
Alumni Association presented the 46th
annual Alumni Service Awards to five alumni
in honor of their exemplary volunteer service
to GW. This year’s awards were presented to:
- W. Scott Amey, M.S. ’75, volunteer
director of the School of Engineering and
Applied Science Career Services Office,
who has identified 120 summer internship
opportunities and 80 part- and full-time
job openings for students and graduates;
- Robert G. Efrus, B.A. ’80, M.P.A. ’82, past
president of the GW Alumni Association
and past president of the School of
Business Alumni Association, who
helped to create the Fowler Graduate
Career Center;
- Jeffrey A. Flaks, M.H.S. ’96, former alumni
trustee and current president of the HSMP
Alumni Association, who has led efforts
to establish mentoring programs for
HSMP students;
- Stuart S. Kassan, M.D. ’72, a founding
member and president of the Medical
Alumni Association’s National Council and
member of the GW Alumni Association
Board of Directors; and
- Camille A. Stillwell, M.A. ’93, Ed.D. ’99,
past president of the GSEHD Alumni
Association and vice president of the GW
Alumni Association Board of Directors,
who helped coordinate the school’s 100th
anniversary celebration.
Scott Mory, assistant vice president for
alumni relations and annual giving, says,
“Alumni service enriches and strengthens
GW. We are proud of this year’s Alumni
Service Award winners, and are equally
grateful to the hundreds of other alumni
volunteers who work so hard on behalf
of GW every year.”
