Out of the Archives: GW During World War II


GW students in the 1940s sell war stamps. By the end of the Second World War, the University had sent some 7,000 students off to war, contracted with the U.S. government to conduct rocket research, and developed science, engineering, and management war training courses for nearly 13,000 students under a contract with the U.S. Office of Education.
