Board Elects Two New Trustees
Cohen Elected Emeritus Trusteee

The George Washington Universitys Board
of Trustees elected two new members to its ranks during its May 17 meetings.
Nelson Carbonell, Jr., co-founder of Cysive, a pioneering e-commerce
company, was elected to the board as a Charter Trustee. Carbonell, who
earned his BS in electrical engineering from the School of Engineering
and Applied Sciences, in 1985, will serve a three-year term after which
he is eligible for re-election.
Scott Mory, an associate at Cahill, Gordon, and Reindel, was elected
to the Board as a Young Alumni Trustee. Mory received both a BA 1996
and a JD in 1999. His three-year term begins July 1.
Also at the meeting, Charles T. Manatt, Joseph L. Brand, and Patricia
D. Gurne were reelected to their positions as chairman, vice chairman,
and vice chairwoman, respectively. Lydia W. Thomas was selected to serve
as secretary of the board, and Eric Linder was selected to service as
assistant secretary.
Sheldon S. Cohen was elected emeritus trustee. Cohen, who served as
chairman prior to Manatts election last year, has been a member
of the Board of Trustees since 1980.
