Ambassador Miller to Join GW Faculty
in Spring 2007


Ambassador John R. Miller, director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons at the U.S. Department of State, will join the GW faculty as a research professor of international affairs in spring 2007. Miller will teach courses on modern-day international slavery.

Miller currently is a senior adviser to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on international slavery. Prior to his appointment at the U.S. Department of State, Miller served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Washington state, where he sat on the House Committee on International Relations and was
a member of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. Miller played an active role in promoting democracy in former Soviet states in Eastern Europe.
