Customer Service Day Awards Celebration

The University concluded its fourth annual customer service celebration with an awards ceremony, Nov. 10.

Four awards were presented at the ceremony based on nominations from the GW community. The Customer Service Enhancement Award is a departmental honor given in recognition of a special project/initiative developed to improve customer service. Three other awards — the Faculty’s Choice Award, the Staff’s Choice Award, and the Students’ Choice Award — were presented to staff members who provided excellent customer service based on nominations by faculty, staff, and students, respectively.

Frank Ard, Sr., from facilities received the Students’ Choice Award. The Staff’s Choice went to Helen Wilson-Anthony, student account representative. The Faculty’s Choice Award was presented to Steve DeRosa, biology department, CCAS.

This year’s Departmental Enhancement Award went to 10 departments participating in the PayOnline Project: Financial Emergency and Emergent Issues Team; Student Accounts; Cashier’s Office; Interactive Multimedia Applications Group; Administrative Applications; Office of the General Counsel; Treasury Management; University Accounting Services; Information Security Office; and SASS Communications and Creative Services.

“Spirit of Service” was the theme of this year’s week-long celebration, which began with an informal reception at the Virginia Campus and a Customer Service Tools and Techniques training. The training session, led by Erica Bush from Employee Training and Development, also was held on the Foggy Bottom Campus at 10 am and 2 pm, Nov. 8, in the Marvin Center Amphitheater.
