As tourism becomes an increasingly important development strategy to positively address poverty reduction, economic growth and biodiversity conservation, the School of Business and the World Tourism Organization (WTO) are taking the dialogue a major step forward with a conference, “Tourism’s Potential as a Sustainable Development Strategy,” this week outlining strategies for sustainable development.

Speakers at the Oct. 18–20 forum include Enrique Iglesias, president of the Inter-American Development Bank; James Adams, vice president of the World Bank; World Tourism Organization Secretary General Francesco Frangialli; and Andrew Natsios, administrator, US Agency for International Development.
Nearly 50 case studies from developing countries will be discussed at the event.
