Sedaka Performs at President’s Night

Legendary singer Neil Sedaka performed at this year’s President’s Night, an annual gathering of the University community, its Board of Trustees, donors, and friends at Lisner Auditorium. During the evening, GW undergraduate Jonathan Kantor, a tenor and alto saxophonist (above right) jumped at the chance to jam with the band. It’s Kantor’s second opportunity to perform with a major act. At last year’s President’s Night performance he sat in with the renowned Glen Miller Orchestra.
Sedaka is a member of the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and his song “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” was listed by BMI as one of the 50 most performed songs of the 20th century.

President’s Night is an annual event for members of The George Washington University donor societies and the University’s special friends in the District. Artists who have performed at this event include Paul Anka, Dave Brubeck, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Arlo Guthrie, and Victor Borge.
