Presidents Night Dedicated to GWs World
War II Veterans
The Glenn Miller Orchestra highlighted the 15th Annual
Presidents Night on Feb. 5. GW dedicated the night to the Universitys
veterans of World War II as an unofficial kickoff to this springs

Mall.
During the event President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg paid tribute to many
of GWs WWII veterans, including Nicholas Lakas (BA 46), past
president of the George Washington Alumni Association, who served in the
US Navy and was among the first to benefit from the GI Bill.
Presidents Night is an annual event for members of The George Washington
University donor societies and the Universitys special friends in
the District of Columbia. Artists who have performed at this event in
the past include Paul Anka, Dave Brubeck, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band,
Victor Borge, Arlo Guthrie and Judy Collins.
Above, Jane Lingo, GW alumna and assistant director
of University Relations, goes for a spin.
