Recent Publications

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently selected a paper by Jorge Rivera, assistant professor of strategic management and public policy, as one of the ten best examples of excellent research available on compliance and environmental behavior literature in 2007. The paper, "Is greener whiter? The sustainable slopes program and the voluntary environmental performance of western ski areas," was published in Policy Studies Journal, vol.32, no. 3, pp. 417-437.

Timothy L. Fort, the Lindner-Gambal Professor of Business Ethics wrote "The Mirage of Integrity: Creating a Trustworthy Corporate Culture." The article was featured in the ethics section of the April 2007 issue of Directors Monthly. Fort wrote, "My own view is that, while ethics is an everyday business concern, without some specialized exposure, the topic will fail. It is difficult for me to believe that an integrated values strategy will succeed without the active presence of board members who have deep knowledge of ethics, compliance, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability."

New Book by Timothy L. Fort, "Business, Integrity, and Peace - Beyond Geopolitical and Disciplinary Boundaries"

  • Provides historical understanding of the concept of peace through commerce
  • Integrates three different and rarely connected approaches to corporate responsibility
  • Contains summaries of work being done by businesses to foster peace
