Membership Information
Membership in the Council can be secured with a $2,000 annual fee ($1,500 for the first twenty Inaugural Members). Membership is per family business. Therefore, once a family business joins, family and non-family employees as well as family members associated with that business can participate in the
Council's activities. Nonmembers can attend Council activities for the cost of admission.
Membership includes:
Networking through the Families in Business Network. A unique network that offers family businesses a chance to work with each other on a social as well as professional level. Membership includes the Family Business Directory, a semi-annual list of family businesses from various industries.
University resources. Members have direct access to the University's library, research and technology resources. In
addition to its wealth of research and technology resources, the University has recently enriched and continues to expand its collection of publications on issues concerning family businesses.
Specialized services. Such services are offered to members at a reduced rate from world renown experts affiliated with the
Council. Upon request, the Center provides expert assistance to its members with any type of challenge they may encounter at work or at home.
Attendance to the Council's activities. Each year's activities address a variety of issues concerning a particular theme, such as perpetuating the family business or professionalizing its operations.
Participation in annual retreat. The annual retreat serves as a catalyst to review the issues addressed and lessons learned during the year as well as to establish the ties between those lessons and next year's activities. The retreat also provides a wonderful opportunity for family members to evaluate their family and business relationships.
Quarterly newsletter. Through the newsletter, Family Business Roundtable, members will learn about the various developments in the public and private sector that concern families and their businesses. Furthermore, the newsletter will be an avenue through which members may publish articles or announcements.
