Internet Payment Mechanisms

Net Commerce Payment - Net.Commerce Payment is a complete solution for handling credit card transactions securely over the Internet. IBM offers software and services for the consumer, merchant, and acquiring banks (credit card processors) based on the globally accepted SET standard.

Checkfree - Checkfree also provides consumers with wallets for making secure credit card purchases. (Wallet is free)

Mondex - Mondex's position on commerce and info on their smart card technology. Mondex was primarily designed as an alternative means of payment to cash in the physical market place, it can also offer the Internet user a payment option that meets these needs in the virtual marketplace.

Mondex USA - Consortium of American companies adopting the Mondex standard for development of Smart Card technology her in the U.S.

InfoDial - home of CashierTM and Internet Checks. CashierTM is InfoDial's Electronic Commerce System that allows you to combine shopping carts with transaction processing . Visitors to your website can fill up their virtual baskets with goods from your site, and buy them directly online, via credit card or by check. The order is received by you via email, and you can then send the customer their purchase. The customer can check the status of his order online, and the system lets both you and him know whether or not the transaction was approved.

Internet$ - The Internet Dollar is a new tool for paying for things on the Web. Not many vendors signed up yet so, be careful.

Cybercash - Cybercash provides consumer with wallets for secure credit card purchasing over the Internet. They also provide merchants with the software they need to accept Cybercash payments.

First Virtual - First Virtual's e-mail payment system conducts the transaction entirely off-line. They charge a consumers credit cards off line, after the consumer confirms a purchase via e-mail.

Mini-Pay - IBM's micropayment technology. MiniPay is a set of modules and protocols which implement a complete and secure payment solution for `pay cent per click' applications. Here you can find The Sub-$ Registry. - A listing of various micropayment development efforts currently underway.

NetBill - A dependable, secure and economical payment method for purchasing digital goods and services through the Internet. Developed by the folks at Carnegie Mellon. NetBill is currently in alpha testing at Carnegie Mellon University only.

Millicent - Digital's micro payment designed for purchases costing fractions of a cent. Millicent (patent pending) is a lightweight and secure protocol for electronic commerce over the Internet. As a microcommerce system, Millicent is designed to support purchases costing fractions of a cent.

Digicash's Ecash - Information about Digicash's E-cash, an electronic form of money. E-cash is currently in a trial period and under evaluation.

NetChex - Internet check payment system, an extension of your traditional checking account.

Joint Electronic Payment Initiative - Multi industry project to develop an Internet payment negotiation protocol. (Currently under development)

CGI for Commerce - CGI for Commerce: A Complete Web-Based Selling Solution by Gunther Birznieks & Selena Sol. An excellent book on how to set up a Web storefront when knowing little or no CGI. The book walks you through setting up a storefront, and the CGI scripts come with a CD-ROM which is included. AN EXCELLENT VALUE.

AT&T Easy Commerce Services - Total on-line solutions for your business from AT&T. AT&T EasyCommerce Services is a family of global services that can address your specific business challenges. The pricing can be confusing, so be sure to get all the details.

IBM Internet CommercePOINT - Information on IBM's electronic commerce offerings and initiatives. IBM offers a variety of options for helping you get set up on-line, and the site is easy to understand.

Open Market - Open Market provides software products that are used to develop the infrastructure for Internet commerce. Their unique approach provides a number of benefits: scalability, content flexibility, lower entry and maintenance costs, and enhanced security. They put secure Internet commerce within the reach of businesses of all types. Netscape's Merchant System - Netscape Merchant System provides firms with the ability to set up and manage their own storefronts on the Internet and other IP networks. This software solution appeals to a broad range of firms, including large mail-order catalogers and retailers, as well as telecommunication service providers looking to expand and complement the range of services they are providing for their business customers. Netscape Commerce Server is their high-performance server software for conducting secure electronic commerce and communications on the Internet and other TCP/IP-based networks.

Microsoft's Commerce Page - Microsoft® Site Server, Enterprise Edition, includes Commerce Server, the new name for the follow-on release of Microsoft Merchant Server 1.0, and provides comprehensive functionality for commerce-enabling Web sites. It includes built-in server components and tools for rapidly deploying and managing commerce applications—business-to-consumer and business-to-business.

Mercantec, Inc. - Makers of SoftCart, a virtual store front application. Provides merchant with a shopping cart and secure payment acceptance.

ICat Corporation - Catalog creation and order processing for electronic commerce.

ICentral Inc. - the makers of electronic commerce software for the small-to-medium business. Their ShopSite Manager is an online catalog creation and management system priced at $495. The ShopSite system is supposed to be so easy, a novice could master it.

MindTheStore - Software solutions for fully integrated electronic commerce. Sales, Accounting, Inventory, and Secure ordering.

Saqqara - Publishers of electronic catalogs. See their step search products in action at AMP and HP.

Americart! - A graphical shopping cart service requiring no CGI on the merchant's server. Secure encryption for credit card numbers.

Dept. of Defense ED/EDI Interchange - Information on commerce with DOD. Information here on registering as a trading partner with the Government. Lots of links to other electronic commerce information related to the government.

TestDrive - Internet Electronic Software Distribution Services. TestDrive offers a broad range of services that allow PC software merchants to offer products for sale on the Internet with a minimum of overhead and maximum of security. In addition, TestDrive makes its patented wrapping, merchandising, and unlock tools available to software publishers wishing to vend their products directly in a safe, secure try-before-you-buy environment. TestDrive lets independent software vendors and electronic merchants sell software securely over the Internet.

WiseWire - Agent technology which learns your interests. Their advanced learning technology delivers Web pages, news, feature stories, and newsgroup articles on topics that interest you.

Starpoint Software - Personalization technologies. Both Web sites and Castanet channels can include StarPoint's powerful personalization technology which allows content providers to automatically deliver advertising and content tailored to individual users.

brightware - Customer-Direct Selling on the Net. BrightResponse, which is currently in beta test, attempts to analyze the content of an incoming query to see whether it's one of the "frequently asked questions" for which it already has answers. If so, it sends an automated response; if not, it forwards the question to customer representatives. Brightware is a spin-off of artificial intelligence technology vendor Inference Corp.

Net Perceptions, Inc. - The GroupLens toolkit incorporates a patent-pending technology called Adaptive Prediction(TM). Adaptive Prediction technology utilizes a library of tunable algorithms to provide on demand predictions and recommendations.
