MGT 192.10 - Small Business Management

Theory and practice of small-business management. Focus on effective management of small firms, essentials of planning and organizing the firm, financial and administrative controls. Evaluation of alternative business forms: purchase of an ongoing firm, franchising, and new business start-ups.

MGT 193.10 - New Venture and Tactical Planning

Theory and practice of new venture planning. Focus is on development of a business concept; analysis of the industry environment and target market; assessment of the competition; and the creation of a complete business plan. Students start with an idea and work with it though the planning, feasibility, and funding stages.

MGT 194.10 - New Product Development and Venturing

To provide the students an understanding of how to conduct a business feasibility study and how to design a new product and/or prototype. The feasibility study will cover the design and unique features, primary customers, spin-offs, target market, potential for innovation, competitors, proprietary protections, etc.
